I am tired of trying to elevate myself to look better than others so that I can become like Satan, better looking. I picture Satan and the angels that fell with him gathering in heaven to glorify themselves, not God. If God were to judge the modern church of today what would He see, Faith, or pride? Who are we following, Satan, or Christ? Show me your ways Lord and I will reflect your love to the ones you put in my path. I will become your shoulder to lean on. Fill my emptiness so that I am not distracted by the things that tell my heart to fear. Let me be your hand that wipes every tear away. You are mighty, but I am only a man until your love takes me to a higher place. Let your wisdom be my guide as I turn to you. Let my broken heart find comfort in this darkness. Let me always find the path that brings me to you. Guide me into the light. Who am I that You have chosen to love me? I am weak. I am flesh that is filled with the desire to do what is evil. I am humbled as I consider the price You paid, For a man such as I. When I asked for wisdom, You gave me the opportunities to be wise. When I asked for faith, You gave me the opportunities to be faithful. When I asked for strength, You gave me the opportunities to be strong. When I asked for patience, You gave me the opportunities to be patient. When I asked for Love, You gave me the opportunities to love. When I asked You for financial blessings, You gave me the opportunities to work. As I recall the day that I asked myself if You even cared about my life, it seems so distant to me now. All I can say is, "Thank You." When I asked You for a better life, You showed me everything I needed to change. The only religion that makes sense to me anymore happens when I look into the eyes of another and God points out their needs. At times I feel that I am not qualified and I look for someone greater than myself to appear. It is then that I hear you whisper from the shadows of my past, and you remind me that I am the reflection of your love. I am your chosen one. Your voice echos, "Will you follow me?"
