Jan 17, 2008 - hority to start this war the Constitution explicitly states that it is up to CONGRESS whether or not we go to war. I realize that you like Huck, but remember that before Ron Paul joined NO ONE was even MENTIONING the constitution. I hope IF Huckabee becomes President he keeps his campaign promises, from past experience (Bush DID run on a humble foreign policy) Id rather put my trust in a man who has a PERFECT voting record one who stands up for EVERY Civil Liberty ALWAYS not just when popular.

Jan 19, 2008 - The Fair tax is a highly regressive tax against the poor. I hope you enjoy paying 25% on food, clothing, child care, hotels, gasoline, car tags. Oh and BTW, you have to pay STATE taxes as well. Rich executives don't give a crap about paying 25% tax, they can afford it. Huckabee's fair tax is a formula for disaster, but it does benefit the people who want him as president, the ultra-rich.
monkeyman1140 Says:
Jan 19, 2008 - No actually everything he said is completely right. huckabee is on record as wanting to turn this country into a iran-style nation run by religious leaders, his son has tortured a pet to death, and he did steal from the mansion, not to mention the rapist he pardoned, and his penchant for raising taxes na arkansas.
monkeyman1140 Says:
Jan 19, 2008 - Tax brackets do not cut government spending. This is typical GOP idiocy, repeat after me. TAX CUTS ARE NOT SPENDING CUTS!
monkeyman1140 Says:
Jan 19, 2008 - 25% tax is merciless against anyone who makes less than 250,000 a year. You forget you must pay STATE taxes as well, the fair tax is only to benefit the wealthy.
catfrenzy Says:
Jan 19, 2008 - your statements are ridiculous. you have no understanding of what you are talking about.
catfrenzy Says:
Jan 19, 2008 - you are a very silly person.
catfrenzy Says:
Jan 19, 2008 - the fair tax COMPLETELY removes 100% of the tax burden from the poor. what you are saying is absolutely false.
catfrenzy Says:
Jan 19, 2008 - under the fairtax there are no tax brackets. it cuts the COST of gov by 25%. it does not cut revenue. gov has the same amount of $ but it costs 25% less. your statements about the fairtax have no basis in reality. you are either ignorant or disingenuous.the fairtax benefits ALL americans!
godschosenredhead Says:
Jan 20, 2008 - Fair tax means we are taxed only on what we spend on. It also eliminates illegal immigrants not paying taxes, because even illegals need to buy food and groceries.

Jan 21, 2008 - He gets slammed by Ron Paul every time Huck tries to look good. Why people go for the second best, its called Rupert Murdock media exposure.Ron is a threat, Huck is not. Huckabee is a good ol boy willing to go along with the status quo.Why flat tax when you can have no freakin tax on income. Its beyond me.

Jan 22, 2008 - I'm a ron paul conservative. Huckabee has made no mention of spending cuts, so essentially he is George W. Bush II: The Return. Our economy is tanking and the stock market will dive monday morning. Huckabee would keep this streak of money devaluation and economic disaster going.
bpreardon Says:
Jan 26, 2008 - This part is huge...the underground economy will get taxed and revenues will go up(drug dealers, illegals, and my babysitter don't pay taxes on the cash they receive)
BiffThickster Says:
Jan 31, 2008 - If the fair tax is a sales tax, and it is poor people that are forced to spend a larger percent of their earnings by virtue of their meager wages, wouldn't the fair tax end up taking a larger percentage of poor peolpes income. I am not trying to be condesending. I just can't find how a persons spending would be correlated with their income.
catfrenzy Says:
Jan 31, 2008 - the poor are completely untaxed under the fairtax. they pay nothing. that was one of the original requirements in addition to being revenue neutral.
catfrenzy Says:
Jan 31, 2008 - ur statement is silly. what u meant to say was that you havent heard huck talk about spending cuts. u r not informed on hucks platform. ur criticisms are unfounded just like the criticisms ppl make about RP are unfounded.
monkeyman1140 Says:
Feb 3, 2008 - The fair tax will increase taxation of the poor to about 60%. Remember the huckabee plan only covers federal taxation. States still tax income, and they tax the heck out of goods and services. Its a simple regressive tax plan against the poor and middle class. A flat income tax plan makes more sense.

Jan 17, 2008 - Thank you for mentioning him. He DID beat giulliani and thompson in Michigan. I have to ask though and I am not patronizing. Have you researched Ron Paul's stances, I dont mean just visiting the website I mean looking into WHY it is a good idea to get rid of the IRS, replacing it w/ NOTHING (16th amendment does NOT allow for a new tax, this has been the verdict of a number of Supreme Court cases). Also, bring our troops HOME. Why are we still in Germany? Korea? Japan? The President had NO aut
