The evening ceremony is the last of the two important ceremonies (morning & evening) in Buddhist monastic life. The evening ceremony on odd-numbered dates begins with recitation of the Amitabha Sutra, integrating the day's cultivations together while visualizing the splendors of Amitabha Buddha's Pure Land as the ultimate place of return. Here is the English translation of the Amitabha Sutra: http://www.drba.org/dharma/amitabhasutra.asp
