One of the coolest products I found that is perfect for the traveling military person, someone on the go or even for someone looking to get rid of their monthly phone bill was being demonstrated by a company called MagicJack. I was able to get a MagicJack and plug it into my USB port on my Computer and I was making free phone calls in about 5 minutes. The software is loaded on the device and it installs virtually automatically. I was able to pick out a area code exchange of my choice and was dialing out and having people dial in. Sound quality was very good. Whats cool about the MagicJack is that plugs into your PC USB port then you plug a regular phone into it and your good to go. Pick up the phone and you have a dial tone. Very inexpensive product. To get more information about the MagicJack and possible special viewer offers please visit www.rawvoiceoffers.com and enter the keyword "MAGIC" or visit the vendors website at www.magicjack.com

Feb 12, 2008 - BUYER BEWARE!!! Ordered mine, never received it perhaps stolen from USPS but company is impossible to contact. They DON'T offer the ability to track your shipment by UPS or Fedex, no 1800 nummber, ZERO customer service not even a method of emailing them! Absolutely rediculous! Probably wouldn't have worked anyway. Can't trust a company that hides - Question is, how'd they get those endorsments on their page?...hmmm?

Apr 24, 2008 - Terrible reception and sending quality. Doesn't have all state area codes. You can only receive calls from other magic jack users. Useless

May 14, 2008 - Good luck, keep waiting, I have mine and no more phone bills. Keep waiting though that $40.00 is better in your phone companies pocket. I have been spending many times that amount for just my reg. phone service. Not anymore.

Jun 4, 2008 - Do we register our number with your company? I mean how do we go around our local service provider? I have a fee that I'm bound to pay in order to continue receiving their service. Don't you think our provider will mind if they don't receive payments for the service the give us? It sounds good to only pay you $19.99 for the whole year, but what about them? I'm a little confused enlighten me please.

Jun 8, 2008 - What if I'm in Toronto and calls my friend in Tokyo who doesn't have a magic Jack? Where do I go to find out the rates?

RichBitchWannabe Says:

Jul 22, 2008 - If the electric power goes off I won't have a land phone to use? I am one person who does not have a cell phone. So if this usb hooked up phone jack would be my only phone,if I loose power then I can't call or receive any phone calls unless I have a battery back up on my computer. Would this be how it would need to be?

RichBitchWannabe Says:

Jul 22, 2008 - Would like to ask if I can have more phones hooked up like I have now without the usb phone jack. With this one usb jack how then does one hook up more telephones for the other rooms in your home?

megamanzer0 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - yeah that's basically the only down side I can think of. and your computer has to always be on but, on the other hand, with the money you save by not having to pay monthly bills you can invest in a UPS

RichBitchWannabe Says:

Jul 27, 2008 - Can not go back to dial up if I use this usb phone jack can I? So if this is the case it will always cost plenty to have this service.

windowsvista1850 Says:

Aug 1, 2008 - no this device will not work with dial-up and satellite internet service.

windowsvista1850 Says:

Aug 1, 2008 - if you have a cordless phone systems with more the one handset like 2 hadsets or more then you can a phone system for the whole house. But the bottom line is if you put a corded phone only one corded phone per magicjack can work.

Dec 1, 2008 - He asked about bandwidth and the guy didn't answer him. He said you need high speed...so...HOW MUCH BANDWIDTH?? 1 megabit? 2 megabit? More?? The MJ website says bandwith needed is 150 kbps. Colour me confused.
