Aug 29, 2008 - that's strong!, not as strong as a mercedes tho, the left front pillar got some damage, in w123's crash test from 1977, the pillar was intact, mercedes w124's pillar got some damage, but its the passenger cell that matters.

Oct 31, 2008 - I do not think the Bimmers`performance is statisfying.The pictures show a very considerable,dynamic deformation of the A-pillar,bending back the entired roof structure,and even the lasting deformation is high.Though loads on the passengers were rather modest in this test,it is quite obvious the structure of the car having been pushed to the very limit of its resistance. Some 5km/h more(equal to 20% more forces to withstand)would have almost certainly caused the collaps of the cabin.

Nov 29, 2008 - Crashtest performed by the german TUV in 1990, speed 54kmh. Though performing good for that era none of these cars, including the 2 best performing (Mercedes and Volvo), would survive in todays EURONCAP at 64kmh.
