Potato Head is my first attempt to push the boundaries of video making with small domestic video cameras, a radical aspect ratio and wide angle lens combined with heaps of editing tricks and sound editing makes this video come to life. It was shot over two days at a exclusive Sydney waterfront address the editing took well over a week of work. This video was produced one year before Rolling Stock and it proved to me that making films with people is far more difficult than using model trains, all the people who appear in the video are playing themselves apart from Laurie who is Dr Walker. And it would be honest to say that Laurie was my only real actor.! This video was put together for a video club promotion on aspects of video making, and hopefully it will have you looking a little more closely at the video Potato Head. Attention to detail is a key aspect to film making, its often something overlooked by the biggest hollywood blockbusters, but not here. Personally it is my favourite video for many rerasons.

Jun 26, 2008 - did you use a string to move the hose when he gets tangled by it?

Jun 27, 2008 - very strong fishing line was used to do the hose stunt, a piece of pvc pipe was held off camera to pull the hose in the air. hope that covers it..
