May 31, 2008 - some people say that you shouldnt use wheels or rat balls because when it bends their spine in the wrong way. thing is, wheels, inclusing silent spinners and flying disks etc, are generally big enough (like this one), that it shouldnt cause any problems! also rats sometimes LOVE their wheels, and if it was hurting them they wouldnt use it. they are too smart! The only ones i wouldnt suggest are ones that are made of metal bars, as their feet/tail can get trapped! your rat is gorgeous btw! :)

Oct 21, 2008 - Fantastic to see a rat actually using a wheel, and what a cute rat too! ... so strange that they just don't get what they're meant to do in them like hamsters instinctively do. I've recently purchased a wheel for my two boys, any suggestions as to how to get them using it. They both got in and sniffed but then couldn't see any use so got back out again lol.

Oct 23, 2008 - I've read that more females then males will use a wheel. Also I gave them the wheel when they were just babies. I think that helps.
