Therefore, the first Chinese civil war broke out. When Japan invaded China all-sided in 1937, KMT had to start the second co-operation with CCP to fight Japan.

And 8.07 million includes 1.71 casulties, 4.5 million captives, and the rest are missings or betrayers. CCP had 260,000 men killed, 1.04 million injured, 200,000 missing. It is pretty intresting KMT and CCP changed many captives into their own soliders during the war.
