I don't like negative suggestions either (even if I think it makes you stop the unwanted behaviour so the "doing it anyway" will be unlikely to happen), because most of them are unrealistic and you lie to yourself - after all a chocolate cake is a nice thing, eating it is not like eating maggots, and I think being controlled about it shouldn't mean going from one extreme to the other.

Mar 2, 2008 - Even if the suggestion is realistic (for example whenever you have a cigarette, it'll feel like the first one did), I'd only find it acceptable if the presistence of the condition would lead to more serious problems than these type of suggestions could, and everything else - but really EVERYTHING else - has failed. Unless this is the case I would turn the page if I found negative suggestions in a self-help book.
