I talked RNA into recording this last year. This is my method to yield maximum points on the last form of Tageri - except I'm not good enough to succeed. RNA had a few tries (a whole bunch, probably) and stopped after recording this one. I can do about the same (I die around the 32 sec mark) but I cannot capture anymore, so this video will have to do.

Nov 19, 2006 - Actually, if you release the special attack, you can force the DC to slowdown at that moment - that is how most Hard players do to win this battle. (well, there aren't many players to begin with) If you play as you do in Normal (deplete most of the life bar then wait) you will be confronted to that though - and it's quite thrilling ^^

Nov 19, 2006 - I'm not sure if he outlived the boss, but XerXian (italian player) used to try the slowdown method on GC, so it's fair to assume that the GC version slows down here as well. Most jp hard mode players play either on Arcade or on DC. At least the ones I know of...

Jul 2, 2007 - Well, I used to visit his message board and blog. He is from Tokyo, a white collar as far as I know. He also does semi marathon running - goes to Hawaii every year for the event there. I have no idea how many hours he clocked, but it must be a lot. He did that video after I told that it was what I was trying to achieve - he had a go at it for a few days, recorded that and has not recorded anything else ever since as far as I know. Maybe I should check...

Dec 11, 2007 - Jesus CHRIST! Is this Hard mode? I've watched a bunch of chapter 5 videos, (but not many Hard mode, and not many bullet eating Tageri) and never seen Tageri spew out so many bullet waves so quickly.

Jan 6, 2008 - Agreed. Tageri is bad enough on Normal mode - I'm yet to survive the bullet-waves despite many, many attempts - and Normal is a cakewalk compared to the insanity displayed here. If you double the interval between the bullet waves and homing shots displayed at the tail-end of this video, that's approximately the interval on Normal mode. In other words Normal Tageri is NOTHING compared to Hard mode. Ahh well. Maybe I'll have a little more luck when my Hori pad arrives.

Jan 8, 2008 - Hmm...a few weeks ago, I think I saw someone else on YouTube doing this and succeeding. See the video titled "Ikaruga Appreciate DVD Chapter 5 Hard". Whoever did that didn't wait until the last second to destroy Tageri, although that person did whittle the timer down to a single-digit number and was definitely more than capable of eating dots for a few more seconds.

Jan 13, 2008 - Yeah, but SWY (the player you saw, probably) and RNA (generally) use the homing missile release to have the game slowdown so that they can look where to move. This video doesn't slowdown at all - and as far as I know no one has ever succesfully cleared Tageri that way. I'm sure the better players could do it, but apparently noone wants to try...
