Mar 13, 2008 - I guess all those years mama Smallwood made him sit at that piano and practice has paid off...

Mar 14, 2008 - It's ALL about the piano conveying a rain storm in the very beginning. The storm on the ocean that contributed to the sinking of the ship that carried Horatio Spafford's (the hymn's writer)family. HA! GLOORAAAYYY!!

Mar 16, 2008 - Does Richard Smallwood have a degree in music?
muzik4u Says:
Mar 16, 2008 - Yes, he does. He graduated from Howard University in DC with a degree in both Classical piano and voice. He also received an Honorary Doctorate of Sacred Music from the Richmond Virginia Seminary.
pianist12 Says:
Mar 16, 2008 - Yea. I thought so. Richard Smallwood is a genius as a composer. He uses fugue and canons and builds his music around that Baroque style chord structure. I am very impressed... The beginning of this video with the big bass chord tremolos sound like Rachmaninoff...anyway, Smallwood is great.
muzik4u Says:
Mar 16, 2008 - Yes, Richard is a DYNAMIC musician, and very nice, humble person as well! God has certainly blessed him with an awesome gift. He's like the Bach of today!!
BigRayBonz Says:
Apr 11, 2008 - He has a masters degree in piano Yes piano. This was 25 years ago. saw him live in concert when I was just a lad of 16
muzik4u Says:
Apr 11, 2008 - Richard didn't graduate from Howard 25 years ago. He started RECORDING 26 years ago now. Also, his Masters is not in piano....it's in Theology. He graduated from Howard's School of Divinity in 2004. His honorary Doctorate is in Sacred Music. The only actual piano degree he got was his Bachelors...back in 19....YEAH, RIGHT! I'm not tellin...LOLOL!

Apr 13, 2008 - 2:10, "Here bring your wounded hearts", Vs 1 stanza 3 -- Verse two begins @ 2:50 (honestly can not be played with more compassion unless it was Jesus Himself!): "Joy of the desolate, light of the straying, hope of the penitent, fadeless and pure!"--@ 3:19 "Here speaks the Comforter, in mercy saying, 'Earth has no sorrows that heaven cannot cure'". I simply don't know how people can live ignoring Christ's atonement for our sins so that we may have someone to go to for our hope and help and power
BigRayBonz Says:
Apr 14, 2008 - Let's not argue about this but he does have a Masters is Piano. Yes there is such a thing. I didnt realize it was 26 years ago as I don't like to think that far back.
muzik4u Says:
Apr 14, 2008 - Ummmm...Richard is a friend of mine. I know about his degrees, what year he got them, and where he got them from. No argument needed. I would win that hands down. Maybe you should go check your facts, then come on YouTube and make comments. Just a thought...
BigRayBonz Says:
