I remember the first time I listened to the album "Court and Spark" ... geting more and more into it as each song unfolded. I hope Joni Mitchell reads these posts some time, so she can know how much we appreciated then, and still appreciate now, her fine work, her poetry, her gifts.

Joni IS sexy (and I'm a straight female, but can see it) -- maybe because she's being herself, vs a packaged chick who can shake it, but can't really sing; when they do perform, it's crap written by the those who sold out at least somewhat to the Hollywood Dream Machine, worshippers of the mighty dollar. Joni is a great artist, superb songwriter, the honesty and vulnerability and truth can just punch the listener in the gut. No probs getting the best musicians, session players ...

Nov 13, 2008 - Thx, wowsers46. I was in college when Court & Spark arrived. Listened, with headphones, to all of it, went back to listen again. Eyes teared up on "are you going to let me go there by myself? -- that's such a lonely thing to do ...", the high notes leading to low. Reports of how GOOD it was flew through the student body. We were lucky to have it as it came out, but you're lucky, too, to discover it and enjoy. My teen kids think their parents music was the best, which is cool! Oh, Joni, TY.

I don't think there is another musical artist ever who makes me tear up or smile like Joni Mitchell. God bless her!
