This is the first step in what will be a documentary about love. Love and art. Art like athletics can become a competition. A brutal struggle, every man for herself, to make it to the top -- professional status in a world whose standards are controlled as much by money as by the ever-changing whims of the faceless echelons of museums, benefactors, sponsors, corporate plugs. But everyday artists, like Brittany Dexter, are making art for one thing: love. The love of beauty, of handiwork, of creation. This is an attempt to get behind the stoic façade of so many who feel the need to compete, to stay silent if they don't have the best art in the room. Here's a chance to be heard -- a moment of vulnerability that can open up our experience to ourselves and each other, and free us to be everyday.
