May 16, 2008 - Man oh Man, all these oldie writers/singers knew exactly what they were talkin' about. This is firme' song the words r soo true. It really was that way, we would stand under the st lamps just kickin' it in the neighborhood. Oh, Joseph wanted 2 share w/u back in the day, but I was still very young. I believe the original radio DJ on KRLA was HuggieBoy and then later on he had a TV show called the HuggieBoy Show 4 all the homies. Shut-down after time, due to Gang Violence. Ask sum people. Thanks

Brownprideroldies Says:

May 16, 2008 - Simon homie, I read about that, on i believe WIKIPEDIA. Dick "Huggy Boy" Hugg. (May he Rest In Paradise) He seemed like a really cool guy, I even read that on his radio show, he would get mad at the "Cholos" promoting their gangs during the dedications. on a side note, You know Joe isnt the original singer of this song?

OGcruizer Says:

May 16, 2008 - So u do know about "Huggy Boy" u really do yr research that's great! No I did not know that Joe is not the original singer, so who is? Let me know so I can check it out! Yeah, unfortunately cholos/cholas have created sum destructive ways and sometimes attract the wrong kind of attention 2 themselves. HuggyBoy was trying 2 create something positive 4 LARAZA, pero few knuckleheads ruin it 4 all! It's the same in what yr promoting, sum people might not agree w/comments, so they get heated! Respect

Brownprideroldies Says:

May 20, 2008 - Simon, I got to listen to just a little bit of him while he was still on KRLA. The Exits, from 1967 I agree. also ALOT of yongsters type the name of their gangs on the comments of the oldies i put up, Fuck that shit homie, I delete that junk! They're not gonna get over on ANY of my songs! I agree, as long as they keep it mature and respect, i'll leave their comments up, BUT as soon as i feel they cross the line, I'll delete the comments!
