First off, to my regular channel viewers, I apologize for such a long wait for any type of video. I've been somewhat busy trying to get a lot of things in order. But I hope you enjoy this trailer. In the grand fashion of "The Shining Recut" and "Oldboy Recut", I have decided to go ahead and do a recut of Quentin Taratino's "Death Proof", the second feature in the "Grindhouse" experience. Using both disks from the 2-DVD set, I came up with a cut of the film that tells a different story. So, instead of the horror/slasher/girl gangs film, I have turned "Death Proof" into a drama. So, here's the story for the recut: Stuntman Mike is a not-so-modern stunt man. In fact, the last thing he did was appear in "Vega$". He got into the business with the help of his brother, Stuntman Bob, who has kept up with the times. However, while filming a stunt for a new movie, Stuntman Bob is accidentally killed. So, in order to get over the loss of his brother, he takes his place as the stunt man, pushing himself as far as any "death proof" automobile will allow. I hope you all enjoy the trailer.

Jan 8, 2008 - Actually, I used a gift card. Plus, I like both "Grindhouse" movies and like each film in the experience for different reasons (for "Planet Terror", because it's like a lost John Carpenter movie. For "Death Proof", because of the fact that it is meant to be a B-grade slasher with cars {or would it be a "crasher" film?]).

Jan 8, 2008 - Planet Terror isn't as bad . but god i wish they`d have laid off that lets scratch the film up buz. there were i few bits in the movie were your thinking that prob would have looked good if i could have seen it . after a bit all i saw was some nasty fx. getting in the way of what should have been an ok film.

Jan 9, 2008 - But both films were designed to look like they had gone through multiple runs. Plus, there are parts of the film that Rodriguez acknowledges were on purpose to help add to the story (for example, how the film becomes warped when Bruce Willis' character changes, signfying the degrading of the character. Another one, a more obvious one, is the film burning up during the sex scene).

Jan 9, 2008 - I've tried this, but nothing came up.

Jan 9, 2008 - obvious some would say a bit to bloody obvious lol

codebreaker2001 Says:

Jan 9, 2008 - Yeah. But still, I like the scratches and the degrading effect in both films, because its both a part of the film's style as much as it is an aesthetic thing.

Feb 4, 2008 - Dear God, I agree with you!!! Death Proof is TERRIBLE and I loved all of his other films.

RicardoDiaz Says:

Feb 4, 2008 - Well done. You've created something as self indulgent and boring as the real film. I'd give it one star but I pity you, so have two.
