Feb 29, 2008 - I remember one year I was in Tamaqua, PA for their annual Heritage Festival. The local fire company had their 1973 ALF Pioneer giving fire truck rides to the kids. This rig also had a Detroit 6V-53, but with a manual transmission. she sounded SWEET, but couldn't handle the hills for (expletive)!! We climbed this one steep hill in SECOND topping out at 15 MPH. Still an unforgettable ride.

Sep 25, 2008 - In those days we all rode tailboard, we all knew that if you lost your grip or your footing you were going to die. But thats what we did in those days. If you have a problem with it, you were probabbly playing with your rubber duck in the tub in those years .
