Dec 15, 2008 - says the man who used bullshit 18th century forms of punishment. how is this un-american? 100 years ago he would have been bitching about incadescent light bulbs making oil lamps obsolete.
hooty29340 Says:
Dec 17, 2008 - I don't know how many times I broke something to play with the mercury balls on a smooth cement floor. I still have 2 legs and arms and one head and the places I played are still standing. Are things like this where we want our politicians spending their time? Grrrr
koz303303 Says:
Dec 17, 2008 - TED POE is right, the goverment should not tell me which light bulb I HAVE to use. If i pay the electric bill i should beable to use what i want. The goverment doesn't have that right? Thats like them saying i can only use HP computers. And to EPA your getting to big for your own britches. Disbanned the EPA
DrinkingTheMovie Says:
Dec 18, 2008 - 1. I'm pretty sure Edison would appalled that we are still using that old lightbulb 100 years later 2. My rights? Please, its a damn lightbulb. If they want to detain me without a lawyer that would be one thing...oh wait they already do that. 3. Oh my god I have to take a few extra steps to dispose them my life is so hard. 4. Get the Deliverance guitars out for this guy. 5. Wonder how much he got from the coal lobby.
mmysama Says:
Dec 18, 2008 - For the first 20 seconds I was like "lol whut" then I saw that things that said "R-Texas" and it made sense.

libere Says:
Dec 19, 2008 - It's funny to see a Republican so interested in the environment-Great point made by DrinkingTheMovie Edison would be sick that no progress was made since. He talks about new forms of energy then mentions COAL and OIL- It's almost as if he needs to live in the past But I agree with the "China" part. All in all great piece of rhetoric very well said and entertaining reguardless of the flawed viewpoint.
SL8408 Says:
Dec 20, 2008 - hes got a point i have a bunch of these things, and im not gonna throw them away like that. plus it costs more to make these dumb things. so i say let us have a choice
rush22man Says:
Dec 21, 2008 - actually led bulbs are alot better than these dim twisty things and more environmentally correct , if you care about that b s
rush22man Says:
Dec 21, 2008 - no we need them telling us what to do and when because they know better than us
rush22man Says:
Dec 21, 2008 - first of all he was very entertaining as a judge ,humiliation is a great punishment secondly, we are not against technology , we're against bullshit items on the market forced down our throats. if they cared about the environment they would be pushing LED bulbs , superior to all other bulbs
ImOnTheTube Says:
Dec 22, 2008 - How enlightening.
COLUMBINE1818 Says:

Dec 23, 2008 - 1. Its not the same light bulb, its evolved and improved. 2. Good to see you okay with not defending your rights. Rollover! thers a good boy. 3. Can you miss the point any more? 4. That would be banjos. Get your refrences in order sir! 5. Of course, must be getting money from coal for using common sense. good day

TexanAndRight Says:
Dec 30, 2008 - Everything this Congressman says is true. I sell commercial lighting. Compact fluorescents have their place, but they do contain mercury, which is poisonous. The government DSOES NOT have the right to regulate the type of light bulbs we use.
Thanatos914 Says:
Jan 1, 2009 - Hear hear! LED's are the future anyways. Much more potential. Already nearing 200 lumens/ watt with a theoretical limit of 700 a watt. Beat that CFL!
TheGoodnessIsGood Says:
Jan 2, 2009 - Say NO to Big government Say no to 1984 Say yes to Liberty and Say yes to small government, no Federal Reserve, No New World Order, National Sovereignty and non interference in other nations sovereignty, say yes to TRUELY FREE markets, not controlled "free trade" CONTROLLED trade. Say yes to oversight, and citizen media and say NO to the deceitful, lying, corrupted evil corporate media, all run by bilderberg members who want world government. Say no to the new world order.
lizardqueen22 Says:
Jan 3, 2009 - You are correct. LEDs are the future!
graywolfz10 Says:
Jan 5, 2009 - You want us to think for ourselves yet your telling us what to say yes and no to. Id rethink your shitty argument buddy.
graywolfz10 Says:
Jan 5, 2009 - LEDs may be the future and I agree but the government shouldn't decide what we should use. The free market should decide whether LEDs stick or flop. How would you feel if the government made you choose laser Disks over DVDs.
stephym7 Says:
Jan 5, 2009 - AMEN TO THAT!!!!
StopUnumNow Says:
Jan 8, 2009 - Revolt! Robbed of their right to buy traditional light bulbs, millions are clearing shelves of last supplies By David Derbyshire 7th January 2009 Daily Mail London
bohatmon Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - sorry for my ignorance but what does "say no to 1984" mean anyway?

melvin6767 Says:
Dec 14, 2008 - We need to use different light bulbs, the thought of many of these winding up in our landfills is scary. I owned at least 15 of these bulbs, they were put in my apartment about 3 years ago. I didn't know then how to dispose of them and just discarded them like any other light bulb. I still have 6 left, I would like to mail them back to the manufacturer,or CEO, but fear I would be prosecuted for transporting hazardous materials through the mail, even though it's okay to sell them to the public.
