Pictured are some ol' gangstar (using the term loosely ;)) friends from South Beach, and some heroes from my past. Ms. Mariann Shannon Harris, friend and teacher at Booker T. Washington for forty years. Also, President of Tom Jones fan club! Mr. Benjamin Williams, former Principal at the now Landmark/Museum Walker Elementary aka Old Dillard, Mrs. Shaw, Modern dance teacher at Dillard High School of Performing Arts for forty years,, like 85 years old at the time of this photo, danced with Martha Graham during Ellington era! Edward Villella of Miami City Ballet (both pictured in the Miami Herald with me at Dillard High School). My sister Kim Morgan Miss Fort Lauderdale High School & Homecoming Queen. Also, Sonia, my sister/best friend Marcela Morgan, Doyle Jr., and my grandmother Elizabeth Halliburton Salisbury. Pictured are old friends and fellow promoters Tommy Pooch (How about that first pizza parlor connected to Spo-dee-o-dees, which had been Washington Square? Ha!), Savoia, John Hood (Fat Black Pussycat), Ernie (Fat Black Pussycat). Club/early South Beach proprietor Zori Hyan (big initial investor in South Beach during the (yikes!!!) 80's (before my time, a dangerous time, Miami Vice era) and owner of Cameo and The Warsaw Ballroom. He used to tell me some STORIES!!! Dino Osteria, owner of Osteria Del Teatro. I can't remember a single time that he didn't demand I sit and eat the special of the day on the house, anytime I passed his restaurant, "At least a dessert" he would say, Tira Misu. Then he would load you up with irresistably delicious wine (unless of course you prefer champagne?) and you'd sit with the restaurant surrounded by glass windows. What a view! He'd show you hoards of photos he took the past year including his annual trip back home to Italy. Tommy cooked me and Claudia a traditional Italian dinner from his home, I think it was five course?...He loved Claudia, and the girl he had loved before was named Claudia. That's when he came from NY. Post-other Claudia. And Stephen Perriconi aka Steffano from Steffano's....so nice...those were the days. We had some great times. Also featured: Michel (owner of Boomerang), Eric (owner of The Strand, Les Bains, etc...)...various characters of the past. I remember one night after my party at the Cameo, Pooch, Michael Capponi, and Claudia and I had breakfast at the News Cafe. Michael took out his credit card to pay and Pooch took a good look at his last name then said "How'd you get a name like that?"But the gangster-est of them all was Claudia Carnesella. More Notes: I designed the program shown for the Walker Elementary School production "Music Counts". That's Ms. Varifly at the piano. She later was married and we called her Mrs. Hutchinson. The band teacher was Mr. Santaramo. I was friends with his daughter Jennifer (who had a horse in her backyard!!! I think they lived in Davie or something) I designed brochures, wall murals, stationary, etc. for Walker while attending and played in Honors Orchestra. Mr. Benjamin Williams was my first educaional role model who encouraged me to be an artist. Also, my science teacher Mr. Kennedy would have us (annually) buy model rockets, assemble them, and launch them from the feild. :) (Note to Brian, Johnnie, Mitzi, Laura, Nicole, Natalie...we will always be Walker Wildcats...wish I had a picture of you back then, out there on feild day!) Also, our family's Catholic Church in Key West, St. Mary's Star of the Sea, where I was babtised following generations of family members/ "Conchs" (pics are from funeral for my uncle Barry Barroso Sr. RIP). Featured also are photos from Dry Tortugas feild trip of Sunrise Middle School's Advanced Placement program. See Carrie posing in front of the burned down Cuban Club where all of my cousins' and my grandparents danced and socialized especially with the Navy. I was at my grandmother's house on Duval Street when it burned to the ground. It had been a propane accident that knocked the power out. I remember it so well, I had been watching Sanford and Son, and then we were all outside on the street watching it burn down. My grandmother met and married a WWII pilot while dancing at The Cuban Club. There was a sea of sad Conch faces out there that night. Duval street was still mostly inhabited by native Key West Cuban Conchs. She would always tell me the stories about dancing with the WWII pilots...romanticize them. The Social Club was later rebuilt by my uncle Freddy Salinero. Hmmmmm...what else...literally "Dancing in the Streets" in my favorite city...New Orleans (yay!!!)... where just prior you see pics of myself and Claudia on a wedding shuttle on the way to a traditional Catholic wedding. You also see many pics of us on our favorite holiday Halloween...I'm like day, she's like night... Oh and that's Miami spoken-word :( artist Will Da Real One in the beginning telling a silly rabbit joke...

Feb 27, 2008 - It's just a JVC mini-dv with "aged film" effect from I-Movie. I'm really just a novice/hobbyist vlogger. Not a pro videographer like yourself. Ha! I had to think for a moment what 8mm was!
