Jan 8, 2008 - Ok, its mostly about weight and conductivity, copper has the best conductivity as you must know, but it weighs a lot, so most of the time aluminum is used for the fins, however, as you may know some heatsink constructors (ASUS and Zalman) have full copper heatsinks for better performance. (part1)

Jan 8, 2008 - The idea that copper would just eat up too fast for the available airflow doesn't convince me really. Because that heat is being drawn from your CPU, so if you have airflow that can take an ammount of heat from the heatsink you don't want it further limited by the materials, so you want the best conductivity nomatter what.

Jan 8, 2008 - Part 3 of my comment.. lets hope all get posted :P Also you should look into CPU heatsinks taht draw heat to the back of your case improving your case airflow. As to Gfx heatsinks, its true they all push the heat downwards and you should look into one of those "PCI slot fans" which draw eat outside of the box throw one of those PCI holes in the box (note: nope they don't occupy a real PCI slot, just a mount). Let me know if any of this is helpfull, otherwise nvm move along.

Jan 24, 2008 - i dont like overclocking its kinda dumb if it heats up the computer there is no point and why are you buildin a computer for your girlfriend thats cute but umm how u make a computer for a girl friend i rather buy a nicxe pink ipod for her a w/e color she likes your generous though for think of her that much

Jan 27, 2008 - copper conducts heat better and aluminum disperses it faster therefore you are getting a fast conduction of heat with a fast dispersion. Thats just the properties of copper and aluminum.

Jan 27, 2008 - ocing is kinda dumb? anyone who think that it just "heats up your computer" is dumb.
