After you record the demo, play it back and type in "host_framerate 30; startmovie barrels avi" in the console. You'll get a popup asking what format you want the video recorded, but you'll have to have the game in windowed mode to get it.

Jun 5, 2008 - I tried several times, but it would crash after the first set of barrels exploded. The reason my screen is so low when I fired at the barrels is because it would crash if I moved my screen up to watch the other barrels.

Jul 6, 2008 - I did read this from somewhere What I did was recorded myself shooting explosive barrels using "record". After that I binded "host_framerate 30; startmovie barrels avi" to B. Played the demo (playdemo), and pressed B as soon as it loaded. I had to run in windowed mode for the codec selection window to pop up. It took about an hour to record. What this does is record each frame, and save as an avi file. If you did host_framerate 30, it'll play at 30 FPS. So any computer can do this.

Aug 11, 2008 - Tip, run it at a low resolution for much higher fps and a smaller avi, therfore if your uploading to youtube it doesnt loose too much quality. Also, try not to go for over 1000 props because the source recorder often gets the "error no free allocs" or somthing like that. just watch for physics collisions and make sure you have plenty of ram and it should work well.
