A mammoth squid was filmed in the Sea of Cortez, Mexico at about 1,000 feet below the surface. The group of divers and researchers working on the project attached a camera to a smaller squid in hopes it would dive down deep enough to give them a glimpse of these Kraken-like sea creatures that many believe exist. What they found will make history. From the show MonsterQuest, and the episode "Giant Squid Found," which airs on the History Channel.

Sep 1, 2008 - Wow! so this is much larger than a giant Squid then, some things have yet to be discovered properly! its interesting!

iamfireproof2 Says:

Sep 1, 2008 - It's not a Colossal Squid, their only found in very cold water like in the Arctic or Baring Sea. Also the Colossal is shorter than the Giant but weighs twice as much. Their fins rather than being arrow head shaped are more spade shaped. I could not see the fins here. National Geographic was the first to use the "Critter Cam", it's awesome than others found a use for it.

kanarvin Says:

ariezrv3 Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - sperm whales dont feed on them they feed on giant squid....the squid depicted in this vid is a colossal squid.

TepResurrected Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - If you say so. My point was that I wouldn't want to be down there.

c2c2p1 Says:
