May 11, 2008 - I sometimes wonder if Clement was the first male contestant to score a DSW..... ....was he?

animegal2686 Says:

May 28, 2008 - I know this is a bit random, but does anyone know when Rod Roddy started announcing?? Was that him announcing in this video??

May 28, 2008 - This may be a bit off topic, but does anyone know when Rod Roddy started announcing? Was it right after he did PYL??

parlet Says:

May 30, 2008 - I'm not sure when Rod Roddy started announcing, but this is Johnny Olson announcing in this video. Rod Roddy started on TPIR in 1986.

btn2271984 Says:

Jun 1, 2008 - February 17, 1986 is when Rod became the full time announcer of TPiR.

ajk Says:

Jun 1, 2008 - $1? When did someone miss by $1? Never heard of one that close.

bhilcu1 Says:

Jun 10, 2008 - Rod Roddy did not start working for TPIR until 1986. Johnny Olson was doing the announcing in this video.

McBearPEI Says:

Jun 21, 2008 - Was this one of the first time that the clanger added to the whooping? I could remember one of the episodes that the current DSW effect lasted so long they couldn't figure out how to stop it byt turning the effects voulme down. It then went to a perfect bid effect and then finished before the announcer's sign-off.

Jun 22, 2008 - i whish they would show old episodes on gsn again

dcbandnerd Says:

Jul 1, 2008 - Bleh...an Apple :-)

baconhead2008 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Wow, over $20,000 in 1981, that's a lot.

palmercomm Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Who'd have thought Johnny Olson would play "Dad" to all the Beauties? It would've made for an interesting sitcom.

takotsu Says:

Jul 13, 2008 - back in the day, it was basically apple or ibm. apples were the better machines.

tsukune007 Says:

Jul 13, 2008 - yes thats true. i would like to see a prefect bid. wonder what happens then would they a $500 bouns ontop of both shoecases. and what happens if both diff. are that same in the 250 range?

ajk Says:

Jul 13, 2008 - No bonuses for perfect bid (which did happen on the nighttime show once), and if both were off by the same amount less then $250, then they'd both win everything in the showcases.

Jetsea Says:

Jul 31, 2008 - His reaction was priceless.

Hellrazor900 Says:

Aug 4, 2008 - LOL nice TV. That was like the 52" flatscreen back then =D

catholicpriest1 Says:

Aug 14, 2008 - How can Johnny be in the showcase and also announce it???

animegal2686 Says:

Aug 24, 2008 - My guess is that either the showcase was recorded first. I'm not 100% sure, but that would be my guess.

JamesAnderyourstruly Says:

Aug 24, 2008 - the tv set is awesome but the computer kicks ass a lot!

EazychairRocker Says:

Aug 27, 2008 - LOL! It's kinda sad seeing that 'high tech' stuff when I'm watching this on a 24" flat panel monitor... And I love how nowadays people are bidding up to almost $100,000 on some showcases and it was rare for these people to break $10,000. Some economy huh?

FreshWesss Says:

Aug 31, 2008 - Woot Woot Woooooooooooooooooooo! Love it.

tommy76tx Says:

Sep 1, 2008 - Wow $4 difference! Very good bid!

kellyjustus Says:

Sep 13, 2008 - I love watching old shows with high-tec items! and sometimes the price is higher way back then. Remeber when a decent calculater was $250 dollar? Or video camara were $2000 and very very bulky? I guess I'm old
