This is a video of a starmine/volcano shell I made with the stars, and break charge out of a 2" blackcat shell. It was a 5" x 1.75" shell wiht blue to silver stars, and my own Dragon Eggs. I was using all the BP coated rice hulls from the 2" conusmer shell. Next time I make a starmine, Im going to use lift powder, and lots more of it. The reason it failed was that the top part of the shell was wider then the bottom, when I put it in the tube, I had to force it. It got jammed and I couldn't get it out to fix the problem. When the rice hulls exploaded, the stars didn't get enough propulsion, becuase it wasn't in the tube even hlaf way. It would of been great if it fit though.

Feb 9, 2008 - Why waste the contents of a $2 shell? Use it in the mortar and enjoy the effect it was designed for. If you're going to make a starmine, start with a simple charcoal formula and use cut stars.
