One of the most sought-after performers of ragtime today, and a fun entertainer to boot, Montréal's Mimi Blais plays a medley of Scott Joplin tunes. The video had to be trimmed to fit within 10 minutes. If you want to hear the whole thing, you'll just have to see Mimi live! The tunes played in order are: "The Entertainer" (1902) "Solace" (1909) "Binks' Waltz" (1905) "Bethena" (1905) "A Real Slow Drag" from the opera "Treemonisha" (1911) "Swipesy" (1900, composed with Arthur Marshall) "Pine Apple Rag" (1908) "The Easy Winners" (1901) "Maple Leaf Rag" (1899) Maple Leaf is presented as her own arrangement called "Maple Leaf Ragadeus", envisioning how the tune would have gone if Mozart had composed it. Please see http://www.mimiblais.com for performance schedules and her many CDs.

Jan 29, 2008 - I've heard Mimi play the Maple Leaf "Ragadeus" a few times (and on her "Taxi!" album), but this was the first time I'd heard her play this particular medley. For a version of her most famous medley, see a video posted by larisa0001 called 'Mimi Blais plays "Dizzy Fingers" and more...'.
