This is the first installment of my new series. This series is made to help people migrate into the digital recording world as well as protocols used in collaborations for YouTube. The first show here covers what I will be presenting and why. It also covers how to overcome your fears of the PC and jumping into the digital recording arena. For some people, the leap into the digital recording areana seems to be a big one, but this video shows specifically shows you how to overcome those fears! Well, I have been wanting to do this for a long time and finally did it. I know I am a bit long-winded, but it's hard to get all this stuff out of sector 24933C on the 3rd lateral of my brain. Hope this helps. I have allot of stuff videotaped already, just need to edit and post. Enjoy and good luck! Virgil PS I would like to thank Meg and Paul for helping me see that I have friends out there that want this info - so this is mainly for you guys as well as all my other buds!!!!

Jan 7, 2008 - Hmm, we can call Mike! Alright!! LOL! Excellent Video - I will pass this on to my hubby too. Recently he ventured in Garage Band on his Mac, and has put down 2 songs! Not knowing anything about the program-you have to just jump in!the water is fine, and you will float! then you can learn to swim later!-I find it best if I stay out of the room. I have the same situation learning the video editing program. Thank you for putting this together - I will come back to watch the rest of the series.

Jan 7, 2008 - I was briefly excited to think you were giving away a guitar! H E L P haha! Great idea Virgil & so kind of you to help others! I have done a lot of mp3 & wav format collaborations but not including the videos. My biggest problem is with computer latency & delays. I went from a tascam 4 track to Acid pro program - got a few gray hairs in my journey & now video programs--well hair coloring in the near future! har har! Great presentation Virgil! You da man! :)

Jan 7, 2008 - Rocket, one more thing - I LOVE your vids bro - they are so original with the storytelling and all... You are still one of the best songwriters I have met on YT and with that, you don't need anymore! You shouldn't change a thing my friend!
VirgilGuitar Says:
Jan 7, 2008 - Thanks Em!!! Hope this helps out in our effort some way!!!

Jan 7, 2008 - Aaron, thanks so much, actually, the truth be told, YOU were one of the YT'er's that inspired me to do this - I love watching your guitar instruction vids and plan to watch more soon (One of my commitments of 2008 is to bump my playing up a wee bit more!) Thanks so much - hopefully we can all work together somehow to help each other!

Jan 7, 2008 - Excellent, thanks Ronan!

Jan 7, 2008 - Thanks Christine! Allot of the principles can be used for Garage Band as well... we may get some people to take the plunge!!!!

Jan 7, 2008 - Mike: Hello, is this "Mike" on? Check, check, cash, Visa.
VirgilGuitar Says:
Jan 7, 2008 - Hi Carol Sue! Ahhhh yes, latency issues, Asio drivers or WDM? OLD PC perhaps??? There are tons of Message Board postings out on the net covering that issue. I rean into them back in my older processor days. Most people buying consumer-grade PC's didn't consider recording on the pc a few years ago, but most pc's nowadays can handle multi-track recording and latency issues are becoming less-known.

Jan 8, 2008 - Oh shoot, I should have asked Santa for a new computer! lol... My Dell is about 5 years old now but it still feels new to me! ha! I found I just imported the mp3 or wav and have to chop it to fit a bit. A little annoying you know! Have a groovy day teach! ;)
